Chanel Boutique Las Vegas
Cesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, 2015
This project was in collaboration with CHANEL USA. The site had an eccentric shape at the corner of a rotunda space within the shopping mall portion of Cesar’s Palace. As the products were of a smaller scale the volume of the store did not require much square footage but the impact of the store needed to be large. The concept for the Fragrance and Beauty shop was to elongate the space visually by employing a trapezoidal volume within the store itself. For passers-by, within the rotunda, the volume looked larger and more extended visually. Together with a floating chandelier of pearl-like illuminated crystal spheres gave the small store an outsized impact. While standing in the center of the mall rotunda - the chandelier created the iconic CC logo. Once the viewer moves away from this vantage point the logo disintegrates visually into an organic constellation of spheres reminiscent of the iconic pearls worn by Coco Chanel.
