Midtown East Penthouse

Midtown East, New York, 2020

This project was for an existing client and family who purchased the penthouse of a prestigious building on East 57th street in Manhattan in 2019. The apartment was developer complete when began and the client moved in during the first months of a citywide shutdown. To limit the exposure of construction workers the client preferred only selective interventions to various high-use areas done by a small group of workers. This became a project of surgical changes to specific elements within the apartment including the kitchen, master bedroom, master bath, master closet, kids’ rooms, and furniture arrangements in the large living space. The Kitchen Island is of exceptional craftsmanship as it was hand-made in Italy by stone artisans of stunning abilities. All furniture and interiors are designed by plainspace.
