As a principal and founding partner of plainspace Angelica takes on the role of chief designer and is involved with all projects in the office. Her responsibilities overarch various project phases and include design and material selection, project management, client contact and coordination, and construction management.
Before plainspace Angelica worked in San Diego, California with local architectural firms such as BSHA and Homer Delawie on several housing and institutional projects. Later, she moved to Los Angeles to work as a designer for the Architectural Firm DMJM-Keating and subsequently in New York as a designer for new concept stores for MAC Cosmetics (Estee Lauder).
Angelica studied architecture at the University of Arizona, where she obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Following this, she studied Fine Arts at the Istituto Per L’Arte e il Restauro in Florence in Italy. After graduating Angelica began her Master of Arts studies in Architectural History and Theory at the University of California, Los Angeles. She moved to New York City after graduation to attend Columbia University where she received her Master of Science degree in Advanced Architectural Design. In 2001 Angelica founded plainspace with Marc Albertin.
